Parent Information
Applications to KHHS Year 7
Local Applicants
You may put in an expression of interest through your primary school starting from Term 1 week 6.
The offers of a place will be made to students starting from early Term 2.
For private school students, please complete the online application form.
Out of Area Applicants
For government school students, students can apply as an out of area applicant from Term 1 week 6. For private school students, please complete the online application form on our website.
Offers will be made according to Department of Education enrolment policy, if you believe you have a valid reason, you will need to complete the box on the application with reasons why you should be considered.
Offers for out of area applicants will be made from Term 2 week 3.
Extension Test “X class”
Due to new Department of Education policy, the selection of students for the extension class “X class”, will be conducted only after the students are enrolled at Killarney Heights High School.
This test will most likely be conducted at the start of June 2025. We will email all applicants to offer them the opportunity to sit this exam, which will be conducted at no cost to parents. If there are unforeseen circumstances where a student is unable to sit the exam, we reserve the right to place a child in the X stream using other evidence.
Year 7, 2026 'S' Class
Applications are now open for the Year 7, 2026 'S' Class.
Students will be placed in the “S” class on a combination of factors including teacher recommendation during our meetings with the primary school teachers and/or the submission of a portfolio. It is not necessary to ask your teacher to write you a reference.
The portfolio should be printed and stapled (no originals and no more than 20 pages) and should consist of:
- Application Form consisting of Student and Contact Details
- Year 5 NAPLAN result
- School reports from year 5 and year 6 mid-year
- Certificates for external competitions 2024 or 2025
- School awards from 2024 or 2025
- Evidence of outstanding ability in other areas
The last date for “S” class portfolio submission will be Friday October 31st 2025
